Deer Park — The Perfect Balance of Lifestyle and Performance

Vertical Arts is excited to announce the completion Steamboat’s newest and largest office building — the 30,000-square-foot, four-story Deer Park Office Building, just moments away from the base of the gondola in Steamboat Springs.

Designed to serve as both the face and headquarters of Deer Park Road Corporation, a nationally acclaimed hedge fund company, the modern office building will further enhance the company’s ability to do business around the world while also highlighting the company’s values. The building brings their entire staff into one central location and provides every employee with a modern workspace.

Our state-of-the-art design aimed to balance the mountain lifestyle and professional performance. The design incorporated a central atrium that not only provides connectivity through all four floors, but also creates a light well into the building that allows adequate light to stream into all of the work spaces. There are centralized studio spaces throughout the building and executive offices located around the perimeter that allow direct connection to the studios. Further, each floor features a shared conference space and coffee bar for each floor’s occupants. Crowning the building, the fourth floor features a large conference space, gym and lounge. Additional amenities include a kitchen space perfect for parties and an Italian bistro restaurant, Brick, on the ground floor.

The interior design of the space was completely driven by using warm, natural materials that will stand the test of time. Reclaimed oak is found throughout the space and is complemented by creamy beige walls that give the building a homey feeling overall. We not only selected all of the fixed finishes, but we also designed custom furniture for all of the studio spaces, executive offices and conference rooms, giving the building a more holistic feeling. The interiors are refined and eclectic, elevating what would otherwise be a typical office space and giving it a unique mountain feel.

We wanted the exterior to blend in with the surrounding buildings, but also incorporated a pop with some unique elements of Modern Mountain Architecture. By using a natural material palette of grays, rusts and woods for the exterior, the building feels rooted in place. Glass railings and windows give it a modern aesthetic and large decks create visual interest on every floor. Steel brackets add another level of detail and human scale to the façade and a new promenade area connects the building site to the adjacent gondola, adding a new base area amenity for years to come.

Stay tuned to the Vertical Arts blog as we go into detail about the interiors for each floor of the building in upcoming posts.
